I am a participant of the Child Care Food Program (CACFP) and I have high standards for the quality of food that I serve to my child and to the children in my care. I try to avoid processed foods, and most of the meals and snacks served are whole foods and/or homemade prepared meals. I offer 100% juice varieties 1-2 times per day, and water is always available and encouraged. Below is a sample of some of the meals and snacks that I regularly rotate through our food schedule. I can easily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free diets, as well any other dietary restrictions and preferences.

Breakfast

  • Whole grain waffles with sliced banana and milk

  • Whole grain toast, scrambled eggs, cantaloupe and milk

  • Homemade banana muffin (made with oatmeal, bananas, Flax and Ancient Grain flour, canola oil, eggs, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and sweetened using honey), served with blueberries and milk

  • Banana and peanut butter roll up on a whole grain tortilla with milk

  • Homemade apple pancake (made with oatmeal and Flax and Ancient grain flour, baking powder, canola oil, eggs, milk, cinnamon, and honey), serve with strawberries and milk

  • Scrambled eggs, black beans, tortilla, avocado and milk

Lunch

  • Whole wheat pasta with homemade cheese sauce (made with cheddar cheese and pureed sweet potato), broccoli, tangerines and milk

  • Whole wheat flour cheese quesadilla, black beans, avocado, mangoes, and milk

  • Chicken tenders, brown rice with peas, sweet potato fries, peaches and milk

  • Peanut butter or almond butter and jelly sandwich on whole grain bread, carrot sticks, apple slices and milk

  • Turkey meatballs (made with oatmeal, eggs, shredded zucchini, carrots and cheese), whole grain pasta with peas, sliced grapes and milk

  • Fish sticks, brown fried rice (made with carrots, and peas), pineapple chunks and milk

Snacks

  • Carrot sticks, Ranch dressing made with lowfat Greek yogurt, and strawberries

  • Smoothie made with lowfat Greek yogurt, baby spinach, banana, blueberries, 100% mango puree 

  • Celery sticks with peanut or almond butter, raisins and 100% juice 

  • Sliced turkey, mozzarella cheese stick, cucumber slices and 100% juice

  • Homemade muffin (made with oatmeal, shredded carrots, Flax and Ancient Grain flour, canola oil, eggs, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and sweetened using honey)

  • Mashed avocado with lime, multigrain tortilla chips, red bell pepper slices, 100% juice

  • Lowfat Greek yogurt tube, whole grain crackers, blueberries

  • Shredded carrot and zucchini fritters (made with Ancient grain flour, shredded cheddar, egg, and garlic salt), 100% juice
